Stephen Schofield has joined Homeloan Management Ltd (HML) as sales development manager.

In his new role, Schofield is tasked with establishing dialogue with lenders within the UK mortgage market to promote HML’s service offering.

Schofield was previously national sales manager at Amber Homeloans, where he was responsible for the promotion of the firm’s products and services.

He joined Amber in 2002, having previously worked at the Derbyshire Building Society and the Nottingham Building Society.

Association of Home Information Pack Providers

The Association of Home Information Pack Providers (AHIPP) has announced that Tom Parker, managing director of technology specialists Quest, has been appointed as its new chairman.

Parker became a director of the board of AHIPP early in 2006, and has always been a strong supporter of the association. Part of his role will be to promote the benefits of exchange ready HIPs, and to put forward the case for them to become the industry standard.

Parker succeeds Martin Willard, who took on the role in April 2007 and oversaw the implementation of HIPs in the second half of last year.

HM Treasury

Her Majesty’s Treasury has announced the appointment of three new non-executive members to its board: Dame Deirdre Hutton CBE, Sir Callum McCarthy and Michael O’Higgins.

Hutton is a former deputy chair of the FSA, and has led a number of bodies in the public sphere.

She has also previously served on the Better Regulation Taskforce, and is familiar with regulatory approaches both generally and in the context of specific areas such as financial services.

McCarthy is the current chairman of the FSA, having previously held senior positions at Barclays Bank, BZW and Kleinwort Benson, as well as the Department for Trade and Industry.

Higgins has been Chairman of the Audit Commission since October 2006, and for the past decade has been a managing partner with PA Consulting Group, leading its Government and IT consulting groups. He was previously a partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers.

They succeed Sir Peter Gershon CBE and Sir David Varney, who have stepped down after reaching the end of their terms; and Stella Manzie CBE, who is now director of general finance and corporate services in the Scottish Executive. The appointments take effect from 1 October 2008 for a period of three years. n
