Mortgage Broker Tools (MBT) has established a new helpdesk for brokers, which is aimed at assisting brokers in researching the best solutions for complicated cases.

Brokers are able to telephone the helpdesk team, who are on hand to answer questions around placing cases. MBT said that the team has more than 50 years’ mortgage experience, so should be perfectly placed to offer guidance.

The helpdesk is available for what MBT describes as a “small additional annual fee”, with the aim of complementing MBT’s existing affordability research platform.

A constantly changing market

Tanya Toumadj (pictured), CEO of Mortgage Broker Tools, noted that the market is changing constantly at the moment, which is adding further complexity to all cases, but brokers can often be left waiting for hours to speak to a lender for assistance.

She said that the mortgage helpdesk could help relieve this situation, giving the example of a recent case where the team had helped a broker secure a mortgage for a first-time buyer, who worked as a Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) contractor, on a concessionary buy-to-let purchase.

Overlaying a multitude of different criteria was time-consuming for the broker and with product withdrawals being announced every day, time was of the essence. However, following a quick call to the MBT mortgage helpdesk, our experts were able to identify viable mortgages and lenders – helping the broker to place the case,” she explained.
