Hampden and Co hires Glanville as banking director for London office
UK-based Hampden and Co has hired John Glanville (pictured left) as banking director for its London office.

Glanville will report to head of banking Mark Prentice (pictured right) and work alongside banking teams in Edinburgh and London.

In his role, he will offer clients bespoke banking service covering day-to-day banking, deposits and tailored borrowing products.

He joins from Kleinwort Hambros where he worked for over 11 years, most recently as private banker for the ultra-high-net-worth team.

The lender said that it has seen “strong demand for its broad mortgage suite” such as retirement, buy-to-let, self-build and multi-property products.

Hampden and Co said that it would continue to add to its banking, senior management and support teams throughout last year, citing growing client numbers and strong financial performance.

It now has 125 employees, a rise of 22 per cent in 2022, and recent hires included Kevin Eagles, Gill Sanders and Alistair Macpherson as banking directors, Hannah Berridge as head of professional partnerships and Jon Peake as CFO.

Mark Prentice, head of banking at Hampden and Co, said: “We are delighted to welcome John to Hampden and Co.

“He brings extensive knowledge of private banking and has a proven track-record of building trusted relationships with clients, managing their wealth and supporting their banking needs.”

Glanville said: “It’s an exciting time to be joining Hampden & Co as the bank continues to experience significant demand from a broad range of clients, professional intermediaries, and mortgage introducers.

“I look forward to meeting clients and to helping them achieve their goals.”
