Hulme retires from Paragon after nearly four decades
Moray Hulme, director of mortgage sales at Paragon, has retired from the company after more than 36 years.

Hulme (pictured) began working at the lender in 1987 in customer services before moving onto various roles in the sales department. During this time, he managed the sales support team with a focus on the buy-to-let market when Paragon first launched products for landlords in 1995.

Hulme moved on to the role of regional sales manager in 1997 and was appointed to his current position in 2019.

Hulme said: “When I joined Paragon in 1987, I never expected that I would be here 36 years later, but it has been a career that I have enjoyed immensely. It was exciting to be there at the start of the buy-to-let market, to support the sector’s growth, and to have supported our landlord customers to provide a home to tenants.

“Buy-to-let is now nearly 30 years old and, with £300bn balances outstanding, is a mature, seasoned market. I have worked with countless brilliant people in the industry, including brokers, networks and clubs, industry bodies, landlords and, of course, my colleagues here at Paragon. I’m proud of what I have achieved in my career and I aim to stay in contact with the many friends I have made in the sector.”

He added: “However, I’m also looking forward to a hard-earned break and spending some time pursuing my passions golfing, charity work and spending more time in Scotland.”
