Hall expands role at Saffron BS as Owen retires
Saffron Building Society has expanded head of business development Tony Hall’s remit following Peter Owen’s retirement after nearly 10 years.

Owen, currently head of property development at the mutual, will retire this week and his responsibilities include overseeing Saffron Building Society’s development portfolio.

This will now become part of Hall’s role, which is expected to create a more cohesive proposition.

Hall has been with Saffron Building Society for three and a half years, having joined as head of mortgage sales in 2020 before being appointed head of business development in 2022.

Matt Hardy, property development manager at Saffron Building Society, will be appointed to the newly-created role of national lending manager – property development and will report to Hall.

He joined the lender in 2021 and worked closely with Owen in leading the property development team and delivering development finance solutions for borrowers.

Hall (pictured) said: “Firstly, I would like to thank Peter for his stellar decade of service at Saffron. I am really excited by my expanded remit, and I am looking forward to building on Peter and Matt’s success.

“Property development is a central part of the business, and this is a fantastic opportunity to more closely align two of Saffron’s key offerings – something which will benefit developers and brokers alike.”
