HLPartnership hires Smith as operations director
HLPartnership (HLP) has appointed Adam Smith, formerly of Gallagher, as its operations director.

He worked at Gallagher for nearly three years as its operations director within UK retail.

Before that, he worked at Police Mutual for over seven years, initially as head of mortgages and firm principal and head of group operations.

Prior to that, Smith worked as sales director at Axa Assistance for a year, and before that he was at Legal and General (L&G) for two years as head of IFA sales, then head of intermediary accounts.

He also spent a decade at Northern Rock managing its business development manager (BDM) teams and working with brokers.

Christopher Tanner, HLP’s CEO, said, “We are delighted to welcome Adam to the senior management team at HLP. He fills the role of operations director, a new position in the business. HLP is growing, and Adam’s appointment will bring greater focus to our growth strategy, along with the ability to coordinate separate departments’ efforts to better meet the needs of the business.

“Adam’s comprehensive experience of both sides of our industry uniquely positions him to add tremendous value to our team. Adam’s expertise will undoubtedly help us enhance our operational efficiencies and support the delivery of HLP’s new integrated technology platform.”

Smith commented: “I am confident that my experience will be of great value to HLP and looking forward to working with my new colleagues to help HLP grow and flourish.

“Having worked extensively on either side of the industry, I have a deep appreciation for the importance of strong relationships, a winning proposition and working collaboratively to deliver efficient and effective operations that power growth. I am proud to be able to play a pivotal role in the network’s continued success.”

Last year, HLP secured free membership to Air Academy for its advisers with later life lending permissions.
