In 2010, Countrywide made an investment of £5m in launching a lettings service model to offer consumers an “all-round service proposition” in its branches. It is targeted at individual tenancies, first-time landlords and investors looking to increase or let their buy-to-let portfolios.
Nick Dunning, commercial director at Countrywide, said: “Despite the challenges in the residential market, the rental market has continued to go from strength to strength, with new tenant applications continuing to grow at record levels.
“We have continued to invest heavily in our infrastructure, both in sales and lettings, with plans to open many more lettings offices next year.”
Countrywide has recruited 235 lettings personnel over the period and are continuing to recruit for the 15 further branches scheduled to open before the end of the year.
