The firm, which supplies Home Information Packs (HIPS) in England and Wales, said EPCs add value to landlords and tenants in response to a claim by the National Landlords Association (NLA) that landlords have questioned the need for EPCs and tenants have ignored them.
However, Jon Evans, managing director of Hips.co.uk, said the latest YouGov survey on Home Information Packs showed 30% of owners act on the recommendations from the EPC.
He added: “Tenants and landlords can also benefit financially from the environmental advice found in the report. For example, simply insulating the loft can save over £500 in energy bills on the average four bed house.”
