Exclusive: Legal and General Mortgage Club promotes Belton and recruits head of broker relationships
Head of lender relationships at Legal and General Mortgage Club Danny Belton has been promoted to drive lender strategy forward, the club confirmed.
Club director, Kevin Roberts, who joined the distributor from the insurance side at L&G said: “Danny’s promotion is due to the fantastic work he has done for Legal & General Mortgage Club over the years, with nine new lenders joining us alone this year and our panel now totaling 81 providers.”
“In his new role, Danny’s position will become more strategic and he will be fundamental in driving our lender strategy going forwards, optimising the current relationships we have with our partners.”
Belton said: “It is a privilege to be part of a great team that has seen the Legal & General Mortgage Club be so successful over the years.

“Naturally I am delighted by this promotion and am excited about the opportunities going forward to further grow and develop our relationships with lender partners.”
Recruitment and strategic execution
Belton’s promotion is one of several further investments L&G is making into the Mortgage Club, which is actively recruiting a head of broker relationships.
Roberts said: “The position is currently being advertised and recruitment to fill the position is well under way.”
The insurance, property and mortgage giant said the head of broker relationships will manage a team of five, including four relationship and development managers and one telephone relationship manager.
Kevin Roberts joined Legal and General Mortgage Club in January this year to drive through a raft of digital change in line with the insurer’s transformation from insurance giant to property and housing innovator.
Previous broker relationship development manager at the club, Marie Catch moved across to join Legal and General Home Finance as head of mortgage broker sales to begin the new role on 9 July.
L&G also announced a £3m investment in ‘no-rekey’ mortgage broker application and client management technology, Smartr365 last week.
