Baroness Altmann to discuss engaging older borrowers at Later Life Lending Event 2018
Baroness Ros Altmann will present a session exploring how the financial services industry can engage with and support older borrowers at the Later Life Lending Event 2018.

Baroness Altmann will ask what the plan for these older people is, how prepared they are and how they have made their plan for the later stages of life?

“We all want our ageing population to be as active, independent and financially prepared as possible, and planning is key,” she said.

The Baroness noted this will involve personal planning for later life, with the right advice, enabled by intelligent, affordable financial services, informed and assisted by engaged government policy.

“How can we encourage and develop that planning process?” she added.

Other speakers include:

  • Steve Ellis, managing director, Legal & General Home Finance
  • Jaap Van Raak, managing director of Fortrum BV
  • Richard Rowntree, managing director, UK mortgages, Bank of Ireland
  • David Sinclair, director, the International Longevity Centre

The half day event brings together the key providers of later life lending solutions, the advisers who already deliver existing solutions to older borrowers, and those who are interested in getting involved in this burgeoning sector.
