Both will lead strategy and execution to the lender’s protection proposition, pricing, underwriting and claims as well as overseeing relationships with key partners and intermediaries.
The appointments come after the news that the current managing director of UK protection Steve Griffith will retire after a 17-year career at the firm.
Shattock will take on the role in December and will join the retail executive leadership team.
He has worked at Legal and General Retail for around three years, and before that worked at Unum for nearly nine years, most recently as chief underwriting officer.
Keefe was previously business development director and will also sit on the retail executive leadership team.
She has worked at Legal and General for over two years and before that was at Neilson Financial Services for more than a year. Keefe has also held senior roles at UnderwriteMe and AIG Life.
