170 jobs to go at Halifax
170 staff at Halifax branches are set to lose their jobs as part of a group-wide restructuring programme.

The staff include customer managers, business managers and counter staff across the company’s branch network.

The job cuts will take place over the coming months, with the bank looking to redeploy staff elsewhere in the business wherever possible.

The move comes as part of a Lloyds Banking Group’s drive to cut around 15,000 jobs across the group which was announced in 2011. A spokesperson for the lender confirmed that this set of job reductions would not affect any staff working in the intermediary channel.

A spokeswoman commented: “Our group policy is to try and redeploy people within the business wherever possible.”
